W912PL-08-C-0021
Customer/Owner Name: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Point of Contact: Jim Fields, Project Manager

CJW Construction successfully completed the maintenance dredging and sand separation process at Marina Del Rey Harbor.  This contract was a performance-based, marine construction contract, which required us to provide maintenance dredging until the end of April 2009.  CJW dredged the sand and sediment that has been clogging the Marina Del Rey Channel using technology designed to separate contaminants from beach-suitable materials.

CJW Construction furnished all plant, labor, materials and equipment for maintenance dredging and sand separation, including quality control, environmental protection, and safety management.  This contract required CJW to work in navigable waters.  This type of construction is complex with a high propensity for safety accident.  CJW had to take extra safety precautions, since all work was performed in the marina.  Since inception of the contract, CJW dredged over 15,000 tons of sand and dredge materials.
